The Vision for the Cleveland Chapter of The Young & Powerful Group
My vision for the Cleveland chapter is to make sure the young professionals in the Cleveland Metropolitan area are visible in political, business, community service, and social arenas and that they continue to build on the momentum of the Obama victory and remain a strong voice in the region.
Mission Statement for the Cleveland Chapter: To create activities where participants/members will be able to network in ways that will allow us to make connections with each other that will allow us to find out about, get involved, and become aware of local government and community needs and activities, create opportunities to partnership with other business owners and organizations in order to fuel the entrepreneurial spirit, and offer a chance to have fun with other young professionals while supporting local venues.

How Ohio Helped Obama Win!
The following article outlines how Ohio helped President-Elect Obama win the great state of Ohio! I will add that I am especially proud of my state and my city, having just moved back to the area after years of being away, for coming out in full force to vote Obama into office. Ohio really proved that they were truly ready for CHANGE! And that the status quo was no longer going to be the norm. And, as my wish was, when Papa John's Pizza offered the $.23 pizzas in honor of Lebron James and the Cleveland Caveliers this past summer, and I saw lines and lines of people waiting to get their almost free pizzas, I said, in my head, I really hope that these same numbers of people turn up at the polls in November. My wish came true, we showed up and showed out! I think Ohio even surprised itself.
And when, in volunteering in the area I live in, I saw little old White women taking directives from a much younger Black male student as to what the next tasks were that needed to be completed at Obama campaign headquarters, I knew I was witnessing history, Ohio was ready for CHANGE. So, it's no doubt that I believe that Cleveland and the state of Ohio are ready for an organization like The Young & Powerful Group.

COLUMBUS
Barack Obama won over Ohio's key swing groups on his way to capturing the all-important battleground state.
Independents, moderates and women in Ohio all threw their support behind Obama.
The Democrat also won across all age groups except those 65 and older.
Obama won by a wide margin among women voters who four years ago split evenly between the two parties.
Nearly all black voters backed Obama while white voters slightly favored John McCain.
Voters who say the economy is the top issue overwhelmingly backed Obama as did voters worried about health care and the war in Iraq.
